Thumbnail
When you have a large index of images on one page making them into thumbnails will greatly speed up loading time. You will then be able to display the smaller images in the index and offer a link to the full size image. Follow the below steps to make a thumbnail.
Adobe Photoshop:
Open your image
Select / All
Edit / Copy
File / New / OK
Edit / Paste
Close your original image
Make sure your new image in is RGB Color
If not: Image / Mode / RGB Color
Select / All
Layer / New / Layer Via Cut
Photoshop 4.x:
Layer / Transform / Scale
Resize the image and hit enter when done
Select All
Edit / Copy
File / New / OK
Edit / Paste
File / SaveAs
Save the thumbnail with the desired file name (i.e. image.tn.gif)
Photoshop 5.x:
Edit / Transform / Scale
Resize the image and hit enter when done
Select All
Edit / Copy
File / New / OK
Edit / Paste
File / SaveAs
Save the thumbnail with the desired file name (i.e. image.tn.gif)
Paint Shop Pro:
Open your image
Save your image with a new name for the Thumbnail
IMAGE
RESIZE
Select: 'Custom Size'
Select: 'Maintain Aspect Ratio'
Enter a value smaller then your image below 'Custom Size'
OK
